UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) is the world’s largest, top-notch, and most influential Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) event.

The world’s largest MMA training and development base, UFC Performance Institute Shanghai, was unveiled in June 2019. It aims to provide an international and best-in-class training environment for top players in China and the Asia-Pacific region and to develop more outstanding champion players, particularly from China.

The largest Ultimate Fighting Championship training center, which was converted from an old factory building, covers an area of approximately 8,600 square meters, three times the size of the UFC’s first elite training center in the world, located in Las Vegas, with a total investment of more than 13 million U.S. dollars (about 118 million RMB yuan).


In addition to undertaking sports research and innovation, the Shanghai training center also provides athletes with the world’s top hardware and software training and rehabilitation resources, with facilities alone including hypoxia chambers, cold therapy chambers, floatation chambers, underwater treadmills, hot and cold pools, sports physical therapy centers, and energy supply stations.

The UFC’s original Asian headquarters was located in Singapore, and the current training center is in Shanghai, it’s a huge boost for the entire Chinese market and the entire MMA movement in the country, China is very important to the Ultimate Fighting Championship from both an athletic and marketing perspective.


The current Ultimate Fighting Championship center signed more than 550 fighters, and the number of Chinese fighters in Asian countries is the largest, which is also the reason why the UFC has considered the location in Shanghai from the very beginning.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship Elite Training Center Shanghai will serve as the UFC’s office headquarters for the Asian region, providing residency for UFC staff and training center coaches in China and the Asia-Pacific region, including specialists in Mixed Martial Arts technical and tactical skills, strength and conditioning, sports science, physical therapy, and nutrition. The elite training center will also incorporate viewing boxes, food and beverage, souvenir sales, and fan experiences.
